Entrants sought for Paddy’s Day Parade

Cahir’s St Patrick’s Day Parade organisers are inviting all local groups and business to take part in the local pageant on Sunday, March 17.

Choral concert

The Cork based Garda Choir will be among the performers at a choral concert in aid of Cahir Community Hall and St Paul’s Church in Cahir House Hotel on February 23 at 8pm

The choir will be joined by Cahir Choral Society, Belle Voice singers and three solo singers.

Community Lotto

The jackpot prize wasn’t won in the Cahir Community Lotto draw last Wednesday, January 30.

The draw was witnessed by Mary O’Donnell. Numbers drawn were 10, 17, 21 and 28.

Four lucky dip winners received €25. They were: Jimmy Flannery, Cahir Business Park, Cahir; Ryan Hennessy, Confidental, Castle Street, Cahir; Eileen Egan, Clonmore, Cahir and Kathleen Lynch, Ballydrehid, Cahir. Congratulations to all.

The next draw is today, (Wednesday, February 6) in Cahir Day Care Centre at 12 noon. Jackpot prize will be €2,300. Tickets are available in local shops and also at Cahir Enterprise Centre.

Country Market

Cahir Country Market takes place on Friday mornings between 9am and 11am in Cahir Community Hall behind the Post Office.

The Market wishes to welcome new producer, Ruth, who makes delicious savoury products and is providing Cornish pasties, sausage rolls and a fantastic range of quiches at the market.

All the usual produce is available every Friday morning including fresh vegetables, eggs, jams, preserves to breads, cakes, buns, pies,beautiful fresh flowers, containers filled to order and a variety of plants.

A full range of arts and craft gifts is also on sale at the market. Supporting the market producers means supporting local families and jobs.

Tidy Towns quiz

Cahir Tidy Towns Group is busy recruiting teams for their annual table quiz in the Shamrock Lounge on Friday, February 15.

The cost is €20 for a table of four and each table will receive a free hanging basket.

The whole idea is to create some colour in the town during the summer months but anyone outside of the town boundary is welcome to participate

in the scheme and avail of baskets for this price.

There will be a raffle on the night to cover costs as the whole idea is to promote colour and not make money.

Pantomime Society agm

Cahir Pantomime Society’s annual general meeting will take place at the Parish room on Thursday, February 28 at 8pm.

New members are welcome.

Cupcake decorating

Cahir Craft Granary will run a Parent and Child Cupcake Decorating Workshop this Saturday, February 9 from 11am until 1pm. Cost is €5 per head. Please call to reserve your place (052) 7441473.

Les Misérables in New Inn

Cahir Lions Club and the Father Matthew Players will stage Victor Hugo’s play Les Misérables in New Inn hall on February 15.

Tickets cost E15 euro and can be purchased from any member of the Lions Club as well as Liam Wall Barbers at The Square in Cahir.

The play is taking place in New Inn this year because it is quite impossible to move and erect the stage for the time allowed.

Tickets are limited to 200 so people planning to attend should book early.

Seanie Lonergan, Patsy McGuirk and Jacqui Mullan will have tickets.

Retirement Club meeting

The next meeting of Cahir Active Retirement Association takes place in the McAuley Room of Cahir Day Care Centre
