Ballingarry Tidy Towns will hold a Meeting in Jimmy’s Bar next Thursday night February 7 at 9pm to discuss our Tidy Towns effort going forward. If you are a Resident or User of the village, please come along and give your support. Ballingarry received 192 marks last year out of a total of 400. Our challenge is to improve this by 20 marks or more this year. We have made great progress since we set up less than 12 months ago, which is evident to everyone in the locality. We should be proud of our achievements to date. And we definitely are. This year we are asking for the help of organisations, clubs, businesses, resident groups, schools, and ordinary residents to lend us their support in any which they can. All Welcome.
We extend our sincere sympathy to the Dunne family, Bouleakeale, on the death of Mary (nee Keating ) on February 1 (peacefully) after a long illness borne bravely. She is deeply regretted by her loving husband Seán, son Eddie, daughter Alena, mother Biddy, father Michael, brothers Michael, Joe, and Tom, sister Brigid, mother-in-law Kitty, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Reposing at her residence on Saturday, her mortal remains were removed on Sunday morning to the Church of the Assumption, Ballingarry. Following Requiem Mass, she was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. “ Go ndeana Dia trocaire uirthi”.
