Cashel Town Rockets 2 – 0 Kilbeheny Celtic

The Rockets faced into a must win game if they were to gain entry into the top four split in the under 12 league, and after a recent blip were underdogs against a very strong Kilbeheny side. However they showed that they were more than capable of mixing it with the best and took control of the game from very early on. Niamh O’Dwyer was controlling everything at the back and providing excellent service to Emily McGrath and Ciara Dwan in front of her. They in turn were helped by Ciara Mulcaire and pinned they away side back for most of the first half, without being able to break the deadlock.

The Rockets patience paid off however, when after being pushed up front, Ciara Dwan got on the end of a driving run from McGrath to finally break the deadlock midway through the half. This might not
have been enough though, so they duly wrapped it up with five minutes to go, as Dwan again finished low into the Kilbeheny net after creating the chance herself. This result means that the Rockets will now play the rest of the season in the top half of the under
12’s league.

Burncourt Celtic 5 – 1 Cashel Town Rebels

Our younger u12s development squad also played on Sunday morning, though they were shorn of some of the squad through illness and injury. Despite a huge effort they went down to a strong Burncourt side. However, despite being young, most of this team are still eligible for u12 next season and the experience they are getting will stand them in good stead in years ahead.

U14s Cashel Town 5 – 1 Kilbeheny Celtic

The under 14s put on another strong performance to continue their winning ways by beating Kilbeheny in the second game of the day at Scoil Chormaic. They attacked right from the off and opened the scoring with a fantastic finish from Caitlin Beatty Green after five minutes. Despite having all the play they couldn’t get a second before half time and went to the break one up. The second half started much the same as the first however, with Cashel making all the running but this time they got their rewards as girl of the match Kate Gayson Molloy scored two goals, with another from captain Sarah Kate Delaney sandwiched in between. They then took their foot off the pedal and Kilbeheny got one back, but once they pushed on again Sarah Kate wrapped it up with her second and Cashel’s fifth. All in all a good weekend for the club and as the song goes, two out of three isn’t bad.
