Cashel’s Brú Ború performing group were given the imprimatur of Europe when they performed at Dublin Castle on last Sunday night for one of the prestigious events during Ireland’s Presidency of the EU.

The audience from all over Europe at the event gave the group a rousing reception. The unique blend of music, song and dance, with fast-moving presentation, struck a chord with the multi-national gathering.

Brú Ború have also secured other engagements during the European Presidency term.

Cashel’s cultural ambassadors will be travelling further afield for St. Patrick’s Week. The Irish Ambassadors in Lesotho and Mozambique, Gerry Gervin and Ruairí de Búrca respectively, invited Brú Ború to perform there. Brú Ború also performed in Lesotho last year including for the King.

The Director of Brú Ború Úna Ó Murchú said: “We are honoured to have the opportunity to display our unique culture to the world. We have represented Ireland at four successive Expos including China with President Mary McAleese. We are also looking forward to the Summer Season at the foot of the Rock of Cashel.”
