Lions Golf Classic

Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club’s annual golf classic takes place at Carrick-on-Suir Golf Club over three days this week.

The competition, sponsored by Carrick-on-Suir Golf Club, begins tomorrow Thursday, June 27 and runs up until this Saturday, June 29.

Teams of four golfers are invited to support the fund-raising event.

It costs €80 per team to enter.

Yeats play

Brewery Lane Drama Group will stage an outdoor performance of the “The Pot of Broth” play at Kilkieran Cottage Restaurant at Skough near Carrick-on-Suir next Thursday, July 4 at 8pm.

This performance of the drama – written by the great WB Yeats and Lady Gregory – is being staged to celebrate the first anniversary of the restaurant’s reopening.

The play, which was previously performed at Brewery Lane during the recent Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival, will be followed by a music session and barbecue.

The cost is €20 including dinner, play and the barbecue.

Those who do not wish to avail of dinner, can enjoy the play and barbecue for €5.

Field Day

The postponed Ballyneale Field Day last Sunday was a wonderful family occasion with people attending not only from right across the three counties but from further afield.

The organising committee wish to entend their thank s to all who supported the event in any way.

Results of Field Day competitions including the raffle will be available in Ballyneale and Grangemockler Churches.

Davins Cul Camp

The annual Davins GAA Club Cúl Camp take place from July 15 to 19.

Each child taking part in the summer camp will receive expert coaching and meet some of Tipperary’s football and hurling stars.

The cost is €55 per child with discounts for families with more than one participant.
