Winter may be here but work hasn’t stopped for Cahir Tidy Towns group.

The group has been busy with some winter cleaning, they have removed debris from inside the wall at the Galtee Garage on the Clogheen Road and planted it with some mature lavender plants that were donated so hopefully they will take to the bed and will give a lovely colour and scent next year.

They are not forgetting the bed on Barrack Street as are waiting for some top soil to complete the job. The Abbey is in full swing also and the near stretch is near completion. Kenna and Joe will carry out repairs to the wall at the far side of the graveyard in the next month or two. This job is turning out to be one of the biggest undertaken by Tidy Towns and is costing a few bob but it will be a big asset to the town when complete.

Sales of the Tidy Towns calendar have taken off! Called “Images of Home“ it is an ideal stocking filler for those who will be celebrating Christmas away from home. We will continue to meet over the winter for odd jobs.
