The Operation Transformation Cahir group had their first weigh in last Thursday night and a whopping 9 stone was lost by the group!
This coming week we can’t expect to see as much but great credit is due to everyone.
Last weekend we held a 5km walk to coincide with the National Operation Transformation Walks and it was great to see so many turn up especially with the buggies and dogs. It was a nice family outing. There are organised walks every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday leaving Duneske at 7.45pm and these are free to everyone to join in. The difference with the Monday evening walk is that in Duneske we have an option to take to the field to do some running/walking but everyone is capable of doing this as there is no pressure. Áine Roche is helping to get the fitness levels up so that we will be able to complete the 5km with comfort at the end of the eight weeks. Last week we had former all-star Declan Browne to help out and we are grateful for his assistance. The whole OT is based around losing weight and getting fit and in doing so we have sponsorship cards for the Shaun Fogarty Fund. These can be collected or you can make a donation at Duneske Leisure Centre. Next week we hope to have current Tipperary hurler Padraig Maher call in to help in the Monday Club and boost numbers. So, put on your runners and join us for a walk or run - it’s free to join in.
