Independent Councillor Darren Ryan has welcomed the announcement that traffic calming measures are to be installed on the Heywood Road in Clonmel, from the entrance to Bianconi Drive to the railway crossing gates.
“This is a matter that I have been lobbying for since my election to Clonmel Borough Council. This area is currently a speed trap and these measures will ensure the safety of all road users, but in particular residents in the area and children attending St. Oliver’s National School”, he stated.
“As someone who is originally from the area and uses the road on a daily basis, I am acutely aware of the huge need for these measures and wish to extend my thanks to the Council officials for working hard to secure the funding to eventually have the plans implemented”, Cllr. Ryan added.
