There will be glory in the Glen of Aherlow this weekend as the Galtees will echo with the sound of gospel music.
The Tipperary Gospel Choir will host a weekend of workshops and a concert on Saturday night in Aherlow House hotel with performances from the Portlaoise, Unity, Limerick and A Glór Gospel Choir, Dublin.
On Saturday, November 1 a gospel workshop, hosted by internationally acclaimed musical director Stefan J Doyle, will take place at Aherlow House from 11.30 to 4pm. Stefan will prepare songs with the workshop attendees including: I’m Chasing After You, Our God Reigns and his own composition, Sing It all over the World for the concert that night. Stefan has performed and directed in many venues and countries in Europe including: The National Concert Hall Dublin, Belfast City Hall, The Royal Albert Hall London, The Royal Festival Hall London, The Gate Theatre Dublin and with orchestras and theatre companies including his own in Germany, London, Hungry, Holland, France, Strasbourg. Having directed such hit musicals such as My Fair Lady, Wicked, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Rent, Little Shop Of Horrors, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver and many plays.
The Gospel workshop is open to every one of all ages and experience, regardless if you’re in a choir or just want to try something different.
All are welcome to the gospel concert on Saturday night at 8pm and to the very special 8am mass at Christ the King on Sunday morning.
