UNDER 16 FOOTBALLERS ADVANCE
Mitchelstown Under 16 A footballers had a 1-7 to 1-3 win over Glanworth in the Northern Region championship on Monday evening in Kildorrery. The sides were level 1`-2 to 0-5 at half time. Mitchelstown wind assisted did well in the second half and a goal by Dylan Considine in the 50th minute set them on their way. Town will now meet either Clyda Rovers or Thomas Russell’s in the quarter final on Thursday August 25 in Killavullen. Scorers for Mitchelstown : Dylan Considine 1-1, Shane Frewen, Joe O’Sullivan 0-2 each, Darragh Kenneally, Diarmuid Molan, Joseph O’Sullivan 0-1 each. BALLYGIBLIN BEATEN IN EXTRA TIME
Ballygiblin Junior B hurlers lost out to Buttevant in the JBHC after extra time
in Shanballymore on Friday evening. Ballygiblin led 1-10 to 1- 3 at half time but a good second half by Buttevant saw the sides finish level at 2-13 each. In extra time Buttevant with an early goal went on to win by 3-17 to 2-14.
Ballygiblin Junior A hurlers meet Charleville in the championship quarter final this Saturday evening in Castletownroche.
On Thursday evening Ballygiblin and Buttevant were in action in the Under 16 B HL at Ballygiblin where the visitors were victorious by 3-12 to 1- 8

THE LATE BREDA HARTNETT
The death occurred after a long illness at Bon Secours Hospital Cork of Breda Hartnett (Nee O’Sullivan) Clonmel Road, Mitchelstown and formerly Banteer Co Cork. The late Breda was well known locally where the family ran a very successful grocery business. There was a very large and represented attendance at the removal from the family home on Monday to the Parish Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Tuesday. Interment took place to St Fursey’s Cemetery Banteer. To her husband Dan, step brother, step sister, brother sin law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy
