CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to John Currivan who has been chosen as one of the recipients of the 2012 GAA Presidents Awards for his outstanding voluntary contribution to the GAA. He has been club secretary for 27 years. John was recently interviewed by TG4 and the interview will be screenedon TG4 at 7.30pm on Friday, March 16. John will receive his award at a special banquet in Croke Park on the night. The award recipients will be introduced at half time in the All Ireland Club Football final. Huge congratulation to John and his wife Lorraine.

CAKE SALE

A cake sale will be held on Sunday, April 1, in the Community Hall Golden to raise funds for the Senior Citizens Outings. More details next week.

Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly - Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2012.

GOLDEN KILFEACLE ICA

Monthly meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 14, at 8pm. Kay Crosse will give a talk and demonstration on jewellery making. Hostesses Mary Corcoran and Maureen Fogarty. Prize Kathleen Ryan. Non members welcome at 9pm.

RIDE FOR GOLDEN

Ride for Golden will take place in the Cornerston bar Golden on St Patricks night. First contestant on the mechanical bull at 9.30pm sharp. Sponsorship cards available at the cornerstone. €E50 sponsorship per entry. (One entry gets three rides). Winner gets at least €E100 (whoever stays on the longest). All in aid of Golden/Kilfeacle GAA.

JUVENILE GAA

Golden/Kilfeacle Church gate collection will take place on Saturday, March 17, and Sunday, March18, in Golden and Kilfeacle. Your support would be appreciated. The winter hurling training finished last Monday in the Canon Hayes Centre and was a tremendous success this year. The standard of hurling was of a high level from the boys and girls attending Golden and Thomastown NS. Special thanks to coaches Mitchell Heffernan, Tony Farrell, Tom O’Donnell and Con Cash.
