STATIONS OF THE CROSS

We pray the Stations of the Cross on Wednesdays after 9.30am Mass in Kilsheelan and 7pm in Kilcash. TROCAIRE

The Irish Catholic Church’s great Lenten campaign continues this Lent. It’s consoling and inspiring to know that when disaster or great human tragedy happens anywhere in the world, we can discharge part of our Christian duty of helping out almost immediately. Please take home a Trocaire box from any of the churches - Every little helps. I.E.C:

Please note the final date for ordering tickets for our Diocesan day on June 14 and for Sunday, June 17, in Croke Park is March 17. Please contact either Breeda O’Meara (Kilsheelan) or Bridget Cronin (Kilcash). Tickets are also available in the sacristy. The organisers are also looking for people who wish to be trained as volunteers to help on this historic occasion. Already circa 1,500 have been trained but more are needed. Closing date for applications is March 17. See posters in churches.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY

March 17 is St Patrick’s Day, patron saint of Ireland which is a holy day of obligation. Masses in Kilsheelan: Vigil on Friday (16th) at 6.15pm which is bilingual and 12noon on St Patrick’s day. Vigil Mass on Saturday evening at 6.15pm and 12noon on Sunday. In Kilcash Mass will be at 10am on both Saturday and Sunday.

G.A.A: The Minor footballers played Rockwell-Rosegreen in the County League and had a five point victory on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-10. The Senior footballers had a run out against Grangemockler-Ballyneale over the weekend to get their season up and running.

Hard luck on the High School U/15 hurlers as they were beaten by Ard Scoil Ris in the Quarter Final, after extra time, by two points. Well done to the U/16½ footballers who won their Quarter Final against Skibbereen of Cork and now meet St Flannans in the Semi Final.

The U/17 hurlers are due to meet the winners of Thurles CBS or Nenagh CBS in the County Final soon. A Score Prediction update is now available on the website. One would have thought that David Power had received all the plaudits available following last year’s All Ireland Football victory. However, he still has one more function to perform when he will play the role of Grand Marshal on next Saturday’s St Patrick’s day parade in Clonmel. Well done David.
