The benefits of Auricular acupuncture were first identified in Hong Kong in the 1970s and were then subsequently pioneered in America. MTDI has been successfully using the therapy for the last few years in the detoxification process for substance users, helping to reduce not only there’s but also family members stress levels and improve a person’s general wellbeing.

Roger Mehta from MTDI who shall be providing the auricular acupuncture sessions said that the holistic health practises can greatly enhance a person ability to cope with rehabilitation which can be very difficult process for some people. It can also greatly benefit family members who are dealing with substance misuse issues in the home, helping coping skills and bringing some balance to what can be a chaotic environment.

A special thank you to students Niall Quinn and Philip Roche who helped clean up and decorate the room.
