Last weekend our Junior Footballers got a walk over from Ballingarry in the second round of the championship. On this Saturday evening, our Junior hurlers play Carrick Davins in a championship game at 7.30p.m. in Kilsheelan.
On Monday week last, our Under 14 footballers were defeated by Fr. Sheehy’s in Clogheen. Team: Frank Meagher, Conor Duggan, Eddie Hayes, Michael Boland, Brian Anglim, Shane Hannigan, Nial Keane, Joey Noonan, Brendan Kearney, Jamie Broderick, James Fitzgerald, Tim Daly, Eoin Ryan, Nial Mockler, Robert Grant.
On Thursday last, our Under 14 footballers were in action against Carrick Davins in Anner Park. The final score was: Davins 6-9 St. Patrick’s 3-5. Team: Tim Daly, Conor Duggan, Eddie Hayes, Michael Boland, Brian Anglim, Shane Hannigan, Barry O’Dwyer, Joey Noonan, Jamie Broderick, Brendan Kearney, Nial Keane, Nial Mockler, James Fitzgerald, Robert Grant.
On this Thursday night, or Under 14 footballers play either Carrick Davins or Ballylooby-Castlegrace in the South Tipperary Shield.
ST PATRICK’S LADIES GAA CLUB
Our U10 girls played Clonmel Commericals in a challenge game in Clonmel last Wednesday evening. Our 23 players were divided into two teams in what turned out to be two very enjoyable and evenly matched games. Players on the evening were: Inez Noonan, Dearbhla Morrissey, Eabha Hogan, Maria Hogan, Jessica Strappe, Isabelle Hayden, Robyn Horan, Sophia Winters, Emily Jane Reason, Erin O’Brien, Ava Heffernan, Eimear Boland, Eabha Fitzgerald, Aoibheann McGrath, Siobhan O’Hanlon, Amy O’Connor, Sarah Crannitch, Sadhbh Morrissey, Aishing Boland, Rachel Butler, Heather Gahan, Katie McCormack and Kelly Burgess. A return challenge game will be organised in the coming weeks.
The under 12 girls continue to train hard every Saturday afternoon and their championship games resumes the week commencing May 27.
On Thursday evening past our U-14s took to the field in Cloneen for their County Quarter final. We managed to get off to the perfect start with a couple of early goals, Niamh Ryan was among the scorer’s. There were some great displays of football from both teams in a game that was played in great sporting fashion. In the end St. Patrick’s secured a 6 point victory over Moyle Rovers ‘B’ and await to play the winners of the Clerihan v Moycarkey game. On a wet cold evening on Friday past, we played Clonmel Og in the Junior D League Semi Final in Clonmel. The first half was an evenly matched affair, with St. Patrick’s leading by 1 point at half time St. Patrick’s 0.4 Clonmel Og 1.0. St. Patrick’s pulled away in the second half, with goals from Shelly O’Dwyer and Ann Sugrue ensuring victory and a place in the Junior D Final. Team line out: Louise Mullaney, Aileen Sugrue, Roisin Horan, Jane Fitzgerald, Rebecca Hayden (capt), Rachel McCormack, Maeve Brown, Sarah Mockler, Lynda Nevin, Una O’Brien (0.3 1f), Siobhan Vaughan (0.3f), Ann Sugrue (1.0), Niamh Dunne and Shelly O’Dwyer (2.0). Subs used: Siobhan Dunne (0.2), Niamh Morrissey, Aine O’Donovan, Denise Noonan and Jenny Dunne. The backs played really well throughout, with Jane Fitzgerald and Rebecca Hayden giving great displays, Lynda Nevin and Sarah Mockler worked tirelessly at midfield and up front Shelly O’Dwyer and Siobhan Vaughan were a constant threat.
48 hours later, the league final against Killenaule was played in Killenaule. The first half was a lively and well matched affair, with the half time score St Patrick’s 1-3 Killenuale 2-5, however Killenaule pulled away in second half, with two early goals, which proved too much for St. Patrick’s to come back from. On the night, Roisin Horan gave an outstanding performance in defence, ably assisted by Rachel McCormack and Jane Fitzgerald. Up front Una O’Brien worked hard, however this wasn’t to be St. Patrick’s night and Killenaule were deserving winners on a full time score line of: St Patrick’s 1-8 Killenaule 6.11.
