O’ Riain Cup: Our Seniors had a fantastic win over Holycross last Saturday evening in a tough battle. We now progress to the semi-final stages of the O’Riain Cup. The draws for this competition were unknown at time of going to print. Please check up-to-date fixtures for draws, venues and times.

Juveniles: The U12 Group 1 panel have been extremely active recently, having defeated JK Brackens and Moyne Templetuohy, they faced Holycross last Thursday evening in the Quarter Final of the Go Games Hurling competition. It was a great, well contested match with Boherlahan Dualla playing their hearts out to secure a place in the Mid Semi-Final. They were missing Cian Bargary and Joshua O’Dwyer who will be out for the remainder of the season due to injuries, two big losses to this team. The semi-final will be played against Moyne Templetuohy on Monday August 6.

Last Saturday morning the Juvenile Club hosted an inter-provincial U12 hurling blitz. Newtownshandrum, Ballygunner and Kilmallock made the journey to the Boherlahan to compete in the Philly Heffernan Memorial Cup. Philly from Synone was a former secretary of the Club and a great promoter of juvenile hurling within the Parish. We hope to make this blitz an annual event. It is fitting that the first of these blitzes was held in this, our centenary year. Congrats to Ballygunner who won the competition. Thanks to the organisers for their hard work planning the blitz and to the ladies who provided excellent catering for all the clubs.

Last Monday evening the U12 group 4 played their semi-final against Moyne Templetuohy, report on this next week. The U14s are through to the mid semi-final, which is due to be played this Thursday against Gortnahoe. They had a challenge against Golden last Sunday evening in preparation for this. Please check the mid Tipperary Bord na nOg fixtures for exact time and venue. Unfortunately our U16 were defeated by the Moneygall Clonakenny combination recently. They now await the fixture for the knock out stages. Finally, well done to the Senior team on their great win last Saturday evening, many of our juvenile members attend all the matches and are greatly influenced by the older players.

A couple of years ago a lovely statue of St. Brigid was erected at Tubberadora. An array of beautiful flowers now surrounds the statue and the shrine is maintained by the Walsh family and other neighbours. A rosary and prayers will be celebrated at the statue on Sunday evening, August 12 at 6pm.

Cemetery Mass & Blessing of Graves: Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday evening, August 15, at 6.45pm. This is always a great community event. Please notify any relatives and friends of this date as they may wish to travel for it. PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK

Please keep August 5 in mind if you plan on going to Knock this summer. The day specially allocated to pilgrims for this archdiocese.

It is that time of year again. Please make every effort to keep our villages neat and tidy. If everyone cooperates, then the problem is solved. Please be vigilant and challenge people who feel they can use parish amenities for anti-social behaviour. If we take responsibility, then standards and values will be safeguarded and maintained.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the church gate collection last weekend. €430 was raised. The next fundraising venture will be a Cake Sale on August 11 and 12, in Boherlahan Parish Hall. We now have a defibrillator mounted on the wall outside the Sports Complex and have a list of 20 people (first responders) who are certified to use it. Please make everyone aware that this facility is available in your village. Within the next two weeks we will have a second defibrillator mounted on the wall outside Eddie’s Shop. Without your help this would not be possible. Sincere thanks for your support and generosity. Please donate any old phones to Esther Kavanagh for the continued fundraising for the defibrillator fund.

Planning is well under way for this year’s Threshing Festival on September 1 and 2. Kings abd Queens of the Threshing takes place on Saturday, August 11, in Horse & Hound, Dualla. Booking for stalls should be made to Find us on Facebook on the Dualla Countryside Festival page.

At the recent opening of our new school, we received a good response from many past pupils of old photos and tales of past. We feel that there may be a lot more material in old drawers or presses in our parish. We do ask everyone to have a look around and if they find any old material to please hand it in to either sacristy. If we get enough material, we hope to publish a book to mark this historic milestone in our parish.
