Congratulations to Mullinahone Senior hurlers who won the South Senior Hurling title on Sunday night last. Congratulations also to their mentors. In their 21 years of senior hurling Mullinahone have appeared in 13 South Finals and only lost two. This is a proud record. Mullinahone are now through to the last eight of the county championship.


The Tidy Towns meet every Thursday evening (weather permitting ) at approx 7.30pm in the church car park. All volunteers are very welcome to attend, with no obligation to attend every week. Also if you are digging out bulbs, the group would be delighted with these bulbs especially daffodils, tulips, bluebells and snowdrops. Your help and support is needed – Remember many hands make light work.


It’s Kickham Country weekend time again, this year the event runs from Friday, August 10, to Sunday, August 12.

Programme of events:

Friday – 7.30pm Cheese and wine reception with official opening by Dr Catriona Clutterbuck ( Dept of English U.C.D) followed by lecture entitled “ The Trial and execution of the Cormack Brothers at Nenagh 1858” by Nancy Murphy (Nenagh Historian). Saturday - 1.30pm guided bus tour of Clonoulty parish, 8.30pm Lecture “ The Trial and Execution of Fr Sheehy at Clonmel in 1776” by Frank Holohan (retired inspector an Dept of Education & Science)

Sunday – 11.30am Anniversary Mass for C.J Kickham and James Maher followed by oration and wreath laying by Mr Jim Cawley (past president of An Comhaltas), 3pm Poetry reading and music in Killaghy Castle walled garden. Guest poet Patrick Moran.


A large crowd attended the months mind mass of Martin Kinnane last Saturday evening. Upcoming Anniversaries are as follows – Saturday, August 4, at 8pm Denis and Ciss O’Brien , Kylotlea, and Michael Tobin.
