ICA National President Liz Wall presented the Carrick-on-Suir ICA Guild with a certificate to mark its 50th anniversary at the organisation’s headquarters An Grianan.
The certificate was presented at a special gathering of Carrick-on-Suir ICA members during Tipperary ICA Week at An Grianan.
Carrick-on-Suir ICA President Kay Mayer accepted the cert on behalf of her fellow guild members.
The ICA National President gave the guild high praise and ICA chief executive John O’Callaghan paid tribute to the Carrick-on-Suir guild for booking An Grianan for their celebrations and hoped other guilds would follow suit.
Many thanks to guild chief hostess Margaret McNamara for making the special cake, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
John O’Callaghan was extremely grateful when Peggy O’Brien, South Tipperary Federation President, presented a cheque for €1,000 to him and he praised the South Tipperary’s Federation for its great support of An Grianan.
Meanwhile, Carrick-on-Suir ICA Guild’s weekly craft classes in beaded jewellery are in progress and will continue every Wednesday at 7pm until all items are completed. Card making classes with the emphasis on Christmas cards will follow.
President Kay Maher, Phil Coffey and Kathleen Ryan are currently attending the genealogy course in Clonmel organised by Ballingeary ICA in conjunction with The Gathering programme of celebrations next year. .
The facilitator is John Greenam and the course is proving extremely enjoyable.
The Guild’s October monthly meeting takes place today, Wednesday, October 10 at 7.30.
