Carrick-on-Suir Musical Society members will sing carols on Christmas Eve at the Remembrance Tree that is standing proudly at the top of the steps outside The Strand Theatre.

The people of the town are invited to hang bows on the tree to remind them of loved ones who will not be with them at Christmas. Bows are on sale in many shops around the town.

All funds raised will be donated to South Tipperary Hospice Home Care Team.

The carols session will take place beside the tree at 4pm next Monday, December 24. The tree will also be blessed around that time.

Meanwhile, films will make a welcome return to The Strand Theatre this Saturday, December 22 at 3pm. Two classic Christmas movies will be screened. There will be party bags for children and Santa is also expected to make an appearance.
