GARDEN CLUB

GARDEN CLUB

A very interesting and helpful talk on growing vegetables was given by John Hartnett, Farmer’s Market Thurles, at the first 2013 meeting of the Garden Club held at Ardagh House on Tuesday, February 12. John went into detail on preparing ground which is very important to yield good vegetable, and sowing in suitable places. Farmer’s Market is held every Saturday morning at the Greyhound Track. Next Club Meeting on March 12. It is hoped a Workshop on Flower Arranging will be organised.

SENIOR CITIZENS

Mass was celebrated by Canon Ryan as the meeting was on Ash Wednesday and Blessing of Ashes took place. The group took part in some exercises, bingo and afternoon tea was served. Next meeting on Wednesday, March 13.

DOG FOULING

Our town is being abused with Pet Owners allowing their dogs to foul footsteps and Roads. People are complaining walking into it, carrying it in to shops and houses. No dogs should be loose in the town.

SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy to the family of William Guiton, Lanespark, on his recent death. To the Lahert Family on the recent death of Ena Lahart Knockbritta.
