Scoil Chriost Ri Reunion

1973 Leaving Certificate Student Reunion will take place in Cahir House Hotel on Saturday, June 15. If you were a student in this class for any period from 1968-73 and would like to join in the above celebration please call Carmel D’Arcy at 06256228.

Tractor Run

Ardfinnan, Ballybacon, Grange Tractor Run will take place on Sunday, May 19, in aid of South Tipperary Hospice Movement, starting from the Green in Ardfinnan at 1pm.

Panto Society Cake Sale

The Cahir Pantomime Society will hold a cake sale and coffee morning on Sunday, May 19, at the Parish Rooms, Cahir after 10am and 11.30am Masses.

Purple Rose Bike Run

The Purple Rose Bike Run will take place this year on May 18 and 19 and is a motorcycle run that raises money for adults and children who have Cystic Fibrosis. Now in their fourth year, they travel from Tipperary town to a different location every year. For this year’s Purple Rose Bike Run the destination is Rosses Point in Sligo. Cahir Day Care Centre will hold its AGM on Tuesday, May 14, in the Day Care Centre, St. Mary’s Road, at 8pm. All are welcome to attend.

Cahir Community Lotto

There was no jackpot winner of the draw that took place on Wednesday, May 1. The draw was witnessed by Pauline Guidera. The numbers drawn were 4, 8, 9 and 21. There were four lucky dip winners each taking home €25: Sharon Cagney, Rosemount Heights, Cahir; Alice Ward, Lisava, Cahir; Eimear Kelly, C/o Cahir Tidy Towns; and Jo O’Donovan, Loughloher, Cahir.

The next draw will take place on Wednesday, May 8, in Cahir Day Care Centre at 12 noon. The jackpot will then be €3,600. Tickets are available in local shops and also at the Enterprise Centre.

Ballingeary ICA

Ballingeary ICA is doing their bit for ‘The Gathering’ by organising a Ballingeary school reunion in late September. Many ex pupils have made commitments to return home for that weekend. If anybody has any photographs or stories about their school days, please pass them on to any of the ICA members.

Happy Heart Collection

The Irish Heart Foundation is asking for you support for the Happy Heart Collection this week, May 9, 10 and 11. The students from the Presentation School Fethard and Colaiste Dun Iascaigh Cahir will volunteering their time for this worthy cause.
