Flower & Garden Club

Cashel Flower and Garden Club will hold their monthly meeting in Spafield Family Resource Centre on Monday May 13th at 7.30 pm. Ultan Nesbitt, Horticulturalist will give a talk on Summer Bedding and Herb Border. A good attendance will be appreciated to discuss the final arrangements for the tour to the Wexford area on June 15. Non members welcome to attend on the night.

New Inn & District Vintage Classic Club

The New Inn & District Vintage Classic Club will hold its Annual Run on Sunday, May 12.

The run is open to vintage cars, bikes and all tractors welcome. This year all proceeds will be donated to the two primary schools in New Inn to raise much needed funds which will help alleviate the running costs in the Schools that cannot be met due to government cutbacks.

Registration is at Barron’s from 10.45am and the Run will be leave at 12 noon sharp returning to Barron’s for refreshments, a raffle and entertainment. All support of this fundraiser is greatly appreciated.

Please note all vehicles taking part in the run must be fully insured. Entry fee is €20. If you have any queries please contact John on 087 6860884.

Keep New Inn A Tidy Village

We are asking anyone interested in joining us on a Tuesday evening at 7pm in the village to do an hour’s work to help keep the place litter free and clean. Everyone is welcome to come along and your help would be much appreciated to keep the area in and around the village looking well for our enjoyment and for the benefit of those who pass through also!

Just turn up and lend a hand! It’s a great way to keep fit.

Cashel Camogie

U14s

Cashel played Moyle Rovers in a county quarter final in Leahy Park on last Tuesday, April 30. They came into this game as hot favourites to advance to semis and duly obliged after a brilliant first half performance which saw them lead at the interval by 2-6 to no score.

On resumption Cashel made three substitutions but their strength in depth is such the the transition appeared seamless, they continue to tack on the scores eventually running out comfortable winners by 5-9 to no score.

Their semi-final opponents are Holycross, on Saturday, May 11, in the County Camogie pitch in the Ragg. Time to be decided. Please contact club members for clarification nearer the date.

County Final

County Final v Thurles will take place on Tuesday, May 14, at 7pm in the County Camogie Pitch. Best of luck to all to both teams.

Congratulations to three of our juveniles, Sorcha Ryan, Kate Gayson Molloy and Clodagh O’Dwyer who played in The Give Respect, Get Respect Exhibition Game during half time at the National Hurling League Final last Sunday between Tipperary and Kilkenny.

All juveniles who have still to register may do so at training Wednesday night.

Imagination Stations

On Friday, May 3, an exciting collaborative project between Spafield Family Resource Centre and Acquired Brain Injury Cashel was launched at Bearly Read Books Main St, Cashel.

Imagination Stations a is a writing and colouring competition for local primary schools to raise brain safety awareness. Competition packs will be dropped to primary schools by Cher Quinlan community development worker Spafield Family Resource Centre who created this competition to raise awareness for the Bearly Read Books Shop. Entries are to be dropped to Bearly Read Books, Main St Cashel.

Two local schools were represented at the launch, Scoil San Isadoir Boherlahan and St. John The Baptists Cashel.
