At a recent meeting of ‘An Duiche Residents Association’ many issues regarding the estate were discussed.

At a recent meeting of ‘An Duiche Residents Association’ many issues regarding the estate were discussed.

Over the past few years a lot of hard work and effort has been made with the developers of the estate regarding certain issues concerning lighting and fencing. To date no major progress has been made and these are still very live issues.

The ‘An Duiche Residents Association’ have always undertaken the laborious task of organising grass cutting maintenance and payments for same. In 2013, to alleviate the costs accumulated by these tasks; the residents group have had to hire a lawnmower and cut the grass ourselves. The Residents Assocaition collect the money to pay such costs. We would urge any residents, landlords or tenants now who have not yet paid their “Grass cutting fees” to do so as soon as possible. The grass cutting is vital for the appearance of the estate. It’s a service we hope to continue to provide.

Another big issue in An Duiche, as in many other areas, is dog poop. We would urge all dog owners to bring a bag to collect dog poop and dispose of same when you return home. This will make it safer for all; especially the younger and mature generations within our community. To help with this issue, ‘An Duiche Residents Association’ will be giving out free poop bags (once off) to each household with a dog; so there is no excuse not to use them.

Presently, some of the ‘An Duiche Residents Association’ are meeting with Residents/tenants to discuss the various issues that have been brought to our attention. To reduce the number of issues that occur we will progressing with plans for a “Neighbourhood Watch” project within the area.

On this note, you need to keep an eye on your oil tank; this is an easy target for unscrupulous people. There are several methods to secure the lid on your tank that you may consider. For further help with this; please contact your local hardware store.

On a lighter note, we will have our annual table quiz/get together at Corny’s Pub on Friday 11th October 2013 at 9pm. The cost will be €20.00 per table of four and raffle tickets will be on sale on the night. All are welcome on the night. Please come along and support us. All proceeds will go towards the upkeep of An Duiche. Also any other Fundraising ideas are always welcome.
