Stand Down Parade for Sean

Sergeant Major Sean Cosgrave, 3rd Infantry Battalion, was honoured with a full ceremonial Stand Down parade in Stephen’s Barracks, Kilkenny to mark his retirement from the Permanent Defence Forces after 38 years service.

Sergeant Major Sean Cosgrave, 3rd Infantry Battalion, was honoured with a full ceremonial Stand Down parade in Stephen’s Barracks, Kilkenny to mark his retirement from the Permanent Defence Forces after 38 years service.

Sean, from the Old Bridge, Clonmel served for many years in Kickham Barracks and had numerous deployments overseas in Lebanon, Eritrea, Kosovo, Chad and Bosnia.

When Kickham Barracks closed he deployed to Stephen’s Barracks, Kilkenny where he served until his retirement. Members of ONE and IUNVA, serving and ex-serving personnel from all over the Defence Forces, as well as family and friends,

attended the event.
