Lattin Cullen



The annual general meeting of Lattin-Cullen Senior Citizens Committee will take place in the Village Tavern, Lattin on Friday, May 13, at 8.15 pm. All are welcome.


St David’s under 10 team have been invited to play an exhibition game at half-time during the Shamrock Rovers versus St Patricks Athletic Premier League game in Tallaght Stadium on Friday evening, July 1. The cost of the coach outing to Dublin, including a match day ticket, is €20 for adults and €15 for children. The trip will also include a visit to the Tallaght Shopping Centre. Further details regarding the outing and travelling arrangements may be obtained from Barry Martin, Donnacha O’Grady or other members of the committee.


Sympathy is extended to Fergal Gallagher, Ballinglanna on the recent death of his father, Thomas Gallagher, Canon Hayes Park, Tipperary.

The girls got their Championship off to an ideal start with a victory over Aherlow in their first U12 game on Tuesday evening, May 3. Our girls dominated the game through out and put in a brillant performance. The final score was 4-5 to 1-2. Team: Grainne Cole, Aoife Ryan, Maria Nash, Laoise Looby, Caitlin Buckley, Megan O’Neill, Katie Cunningham, Orla Landers, Emer Quirke, Kayleigh O Farrell, Lara O Dwyer, Aoife O’Halloran, Clodagh Cunningham, Angela Heffernan and Jenny Quirke. Subs: Ber Leahy, Jade Crowe and Becky Ryan. Well done girls. Next game is against Templemore on Tuesday, May 10.


Ours girls took on Thurles Sarsfields on Sunday, May 1, in Hannon Park and came out on top with a scoreline of 4-5 to 3-3. This was a great win as our U14 team is very young and very dependent on the U12 panel. Team: Ber Leahy, Louise Howe, Cora Howe, Angela Heffernan, Aoife Ryan, Katie O’Donoghue, Emer Quirke, Josephine Ryan, Ciara Cunningham, Meave Carew, Lara O’Dwyer, Orla Landers, Emer Carew, Nicola Buckley and Noelle Looby. Congratulations to Denise O’Donnell who came on as a sub in the second half of the County U16 girls football match against Waterford and scored two points. The girls had a good win and are now through to the Munster Final to be played in July.


The U16 played against favourites Golden on Monday evening, May 2, and came out second best. Well done to the boys for putting in such a good effort.


In an exciting game where goals were plentiful we came out on top by two points at the final whistle when we played Golden on Thursday last in Golden. The final score being 6-11 to 7-6. Best wishes to Shane Mcgrath who got injured during the game. On Saturday, May 7, our U8 boys took part in a blitz in Hannon Park. They had great fun and there are lots of players of who could make a big impact in the club in future years. In their first match they lost unluckily to Emly. It was a very tight affair. The second encounter wasn’t as tight as we came out easy winners against Solohead. Players: Dave Russell, Adam Lohan, Michael Dillon, Daniel Moloney, Gary Quirke, T.J Moloney, Robert Mullins, Sam Quinn, Simon Crehan, Diarmuid Looby, Jack Ryan, Aaron O’ Donoghue, Cillian Crowe, Daniel Ryan, Shane O’Grady and Darragh O’Brein. Thanks to Imelda, Brendan and everyone else involved.


The lads were unsuccessful in their game against Emly on Monday, May 2, in Lattin. It was a tough game and our lads found it difficult to score. The player were as follows Niall Carew, Timmy Clake, Tim Corcoran, Arthur Moore, Ml Sean Nash, Danny Cunningham, Connie O’Halloran, Sean Landers, Dan Cuss, Brendan O’Donoghue, Mark O’Dwyer, James Doherty, Tadhg Hayes, Liam Ryan, Ben Quinn and Jack Cunningham.
