The Ladies Doubles league on Tuesday nights is well underway while a Men’s Doubles league began last Wednesday night and will continue for the next eight weeks. Just a reminder – Membership is now due and should be paid before Sunday 15 May.

Basketball dribble fundraiser took place in Rockwell College last Sunday. A draw will take place when all the cards have been dropped back. Basketball finished now until September. Congratulations to the four club members on the Rockwell College first year team who qualified on Sunday, May 8, for the All Ireland semi-finals to be held on May 20 in UL. The four New Inn/Rosegreen Basketball club members are Michael Wilson, Jack Tierney, Stephen Quirke and Diarmuid Barron.

Under 14’s had a great win over St. Marys, Clonmel last Thursday in New Inn. We now qualify for the quarter final which will be played Thursday, May 12, at 7pm in New Inn against Ballingary, subject to change.
Parents are invited to attend a meeting on Thursday, May 12, at 6pm at Rockwell Rovers Meeting Room, New Inn. Deidre Murphy, Munster Camoige Development Officer will talk on Cluster Games, Go-Games for U8, U10 and U12 plus other programmes for the development of Camogie girls. A presentation of certificates will be made to the U10 girls on the night.
ROCKWELL ROVERS GAA CLUB
U8’s played a challenge match against Kickhams last Monday night. Unfortunately they were beaten by a stronger side.
U12’s - Hard luck to our U12’s who were beaten by one point last Monday night in New Inn against Kickhams. The final score was 2-2 to 1-4. Scorers were Colm Moloney 1-1, Conor Walsh 0-1 and Ciaran McKeanna 0-1.
U16’s - Well done to our players who had a win over Kickhams in Sean Treacy Park. The final score was 3-9 to 1-7.
U14’s - Well done to our players who had good win over Aherlow/Galtee last Thursday night in New Inn. The final score was 3-10 to 2-3. Scorers on the night were Liam Fahey 1-0, Kevin Blair 1-8, Paul Coffey 1-0, Owen Cleary 0-2.
Intermediates who started off the Matt Kavanagh Coaches West Intermediate Football Championship with a win over Cashel KC in Leahy Park Cashel last Saturday, April 30. The final score was 18 points to 1-4.
Junior hurlers had a good win over Clonoulty/Rossmore last Sunday in Golden. Even thought Rockwell played into the wind in the first half, they got off to a great start scoring a goal and two points in the first 10 minutes but thereafter Clonoulty used the wind advantage to lead by 10 points to a goal and three points at half-time. However after the resumption Rockwell pulled away with the wind at their backs and outscored Clonoulty 1 goals and 8 points to four points to give a full time score of 2-11 to 14 points for a 3 point winning margin for Rockwell.
NEW INN FESTIVAL
Its that time of year again, Sunday June 12 has been decided as the date for this year’s festival. There is a meeting this Thursday, May 12, at 8.30pm for all those interested in getting involved at the Community Center.
