Our next monthly meeting will take place on Wednesday May 18. Catering are the bluebell group. Competition for the night is a basket of summer flowers. Guest speaker will be Chris Taylor. Hope all members can attend.


Winners of the Progressive 25, at Rathkeevin Hall, on Thursday, May 5, Winners on 11 games: Rose Ann Carew and Mick Keane. Sharing 2nd and 3rd on 10 games: Eileen Howley and Mick O’Dwyer; Celia Sweeney and Margaret Quinlan; Betty Collins and John Donovan.

Table Prizes - On the 19th game: Masie O’Grady and Michael Prendergast. On the 20th game: Paddy Franey and David Blissett.

We welcome into the christian community Bridget Teresa O’Reilly, who was baptised in Powerstown on Saturday, and congratulate her parents Edward and Bridget.


Many thanks to the pupils and staff of Powerstown school who ran a raffle for Trocaire and raised €832.

Many thanks also to the pupils and staff of Lisronagh school who ran a bring and buy sale for Trocaire and raised €783. It is wonderful to see children thinking and working to help children who are in need.


Congratulations to the ten girls from Rathkeevin School who received their first Communion on Saturday last in Powerstown

Church. It was a beautiful ceremony and a beautiful day. Great credit must go to their teacher Stephen Doody for preparing

them so well. Our thanks also to the Rathkeevin School Choir for enriching the ceremony and to their teachers Elizabeth English and Eimear Howley for preparing and conducting them. Our thanks also to our organist Eimear Howley and the school musicians for accompanying the choir. Those who received their communion were, Sophie Boyle, Aoibhin Foley, Aine Grace, Rionach Kinsella, Caoimhe Mulcahy, Robyn O’Flynn, Priscilla O’Reilly, Jessica Redfern, Eve Whelan, Hazel Whyte.


Rosary every Monday night at Rathronan Grotto for May at 7.30pm.


The parish pilgrimage and holiday will take place this year from September 19 to 26. Three days will be spent in Fatima followed by four days in a four star hotel on the beautiful Lisbon coast.
