Clonmel native and CEO of Chernobyl Children International Adi Roche is to be honoured with a civic reception this June by the Mayor and members of Clonmel Borough Council.

Says Mayor Siobhán Ambrose - “As everyone is aware Adi Roche has given a lifetime of commitment and service to the people of Chernobyl. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster so I think that it is fitting that Clonmel Borough Council publicly recognises the outstanding contribution that Adi has made to the people in these affected areas for the past 25 years.

“During this time under Adi’s guidance the organisation has raised over €90 million towards medical care, education and housing and brought over 21,000 children to Ireland for rest and recuperation.

We look forward to honouring Adi with this civic reception in June”.
