July 11 to July 15 saw Ballylooby/Castlegrace Juvenile GAA club hold its first ever VHI Cul Camp. Upwards of 80 boys and girls between the ages of six and 13 years of age took part in the week long camp. The weather was brilliant and added to the fun and games of the week’s activities. County Board oard chairman Barry O’Brien visited the camp and brought with him the Liam McCarthy Cup. This was a great treat for all the kids who each got to lift the cup over their heads for a few moments. On Friday the camp was visited by Tipperary hurler John O’Keefe from Clonulty/Rossmore who took the time to answer all the kids’ questions as well as sign hurley’s, helmets and jerseys. A big thank you to all the coaches during the week, who brought great experience and energy to the weeks activities. Thanks also to John Pine, Carmel Morgan, Michael, Christopher and Andrew Burke, Al O’Dwyer and to all the excellent club helpers who made the week a success. Finally a big thank you to Trisha Tobin, who manned the first aid post, washed the cups and was ever present during the week UNDER 10

GAA DEVELOPMENT LOTTO Results for Monday, July 11. Ballylooby/Castlegrace Juvenile GAA Club hold their 25 drive every Monday night at 8.30pm in Ballylooby Community Hall followed by light refreshments. Results for July 11. First prize: John Pyne and Michael Prendergast. Second prize was won by Willie O’Neill and Pat Wilkinson. Lucky Table: Tommy Beary and Michael Murphy.


The Ladies Club will hold their annual Church Gate Collection this weekend on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July at Ballylooby Church. The proceeds go towards the annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party. Your support will be appreciated.


Plans are going ahead for Ballylooby Annual Vintage Day and that will be held on Sunday, August 28. A meeting takes place this Wednesday, July 20, at 9pm to make arrangements for this annual event. All those who are available, to lend a helping hand please come along, as lots of help is necessary on the day. Last year, was a huge success and this year hopefully, will be even better!


A retirement party is being held on Friday, July 22, for Pat Slattery who recently retired from An Post after forty two years loyal service. The party is scheduled from 9pm in The Village Inn. A coffee morning will take place in Cahir Golf Club on Thursday, July 28 from 9am to 12noon all in aid of South Tipperary Hospice. Congratulations to Marie Reidy, Tincurry who is the current Lady Captain and Marie has had a very busy year to date. As part of the fundraising effort for the Hospice, A 3 Ball Open Ladies Golf Competition is organised for that day and will be sponsored by Noel Flanagan of Cahir Carpets. For those who don’t play golf please, go along and bring a friend and support this very worthy cause.


That wonderful show is back again this year, in St. Paul’s Clogheen on Thursdays and Fridays at 8.15pm beginning this Thursday, July 21. A huge commitment by everybody from the parents, dancers, musicians, singers and organisers, an excellent show over the last few years. Well done to all involved.

The Village Inn has re-opened under new management. The new INN keepers are the very popular Martina and Seamus Tobin. They are inviting all friends and neighbours from near and far to celebrate the Official Opening on Saturday, July 30. The music of Johnny B & the Boogie Men will entertain you on the night and a finger food supper will be provided.


A special Trocaire collection for the drought and hunger victims in Africa who are suffering such deprivation as seen on our television screens will be collected at the end of all masses in our parish this coming week-end.
