Pride of place judging on Thursday, July 21, at 9.45am. Hope to see you all at the Community Centre!

We enjoyed a great evening at the athletics event in the Mill field on June 8 with about 120 people taking part in different events. We were delighted with the turn out and especially as most of the parents stayed and cheered on the competitors and added to the enjoyment of the evening. Following that we had 28 young athletes travelling to Waterford on Sunday, June 26, for the county finals. Those who took part in Waterford were: Gretta Nugent, Chris Ryan, Fionn Hallinan, Claire Walsh, Oisin Walsh, Ailish Ryan, Oisin Looney, Jody Beckers, Kelly Ann Hogan, Sadhbh Hallinan, Sean Walsh, Aaron Ryan, Becky Hogan, Cliona Murphy, Tholom Guiry, Mairead Boyce, Cian Wall, Kyle Cuddy, Ciara Ryan, Ava Kearney, Becky Maunsell, Karen Connolly, Jordan Ryan, Larry Walsh, Niamh Ryan, Shane O’Meara, Lauren Guiry, Rachel McGrath

Everyone did so well on the day. It was just amazing to see the standard of the athletes we have in this group of young people. We had finalists in U8 Girls & Boys 60m & 80m, in U10 Girls & Boys in both 100m & 200m, U12 Girls & Boys 100m, U14 Girls & Boys 100m, basically for every individual event we entered we had at least one representative in the final. We also had relay teams entering in U10 Mixed, U12 Girls, U13 Mixed & U15 Mixed again with great results. Considering there were teams from 10 different areas of the county, this was a great result. It was an enjoyable day out for both the children and their parents with the good weather helping matters and thanks to all the parents on the sidelines who shouted on their support and helped out on the day.

The following were our medal winners: U8 Boys 60 Metres: Chris Ryan (silver); U14 Girls 100 Metres: Mairead Boyce (silver); U14 Boys 100 Metres: Cian Wall (silver); U13 Mixed Relay: Cliona Murphy, Niamh Ryan, Tholom Guiry, Larry Walsh (silver); U15 Mixed Relay: Mairead Boyce, Lauren Guiry, Rachel McGrath, Cian Wall and Shane O’Meara (Gold).
