COLAISTE COIS SIUIRE
For the past 19 years since it was established in 1992, Colaiste Cois Siuire has gone from strength to strength and this year was no exception with almost 200 students from over a wide area attending the two-week course. In Colaiste, all activities were conducted as Gaeilge and from day one the students of all ages blended into this informal happy atmosphere and participated in a wide variety of games etc., while learning the many traditional Irish songs, dances, music etc., where all tasks were catered for. The Concert of music, song, dance and drama and depicting the life of Seamus O’Maolchathaigh, native Irish speaker from Newcastle was well attended by parents and family members. A bualadh bos to the teachers, helpers and others who made this year’s Colaiste a very successful and enjoyable two weeks in Newcastle.
