ROCKWELL ROVERS GAA CAMP
We had a most enjoyable summer camp from Monday, July 11, to Friday, July 15, which was very well attended. Children of all ages enjoyed high quality coaching each night, doing a mix of hurling, football and camogie. This was the first year of the VHI cul camp and it was very successful and we were very lucky with the weather. There were over 84 children involved. A special thanks to all the parents who supplied delicious sandwiches, cakes and buns each night and also the ladies in the kitchen who ensured the catering ran smoothly. Thanks also to our sponsors of minerals and snacks which the children enjoyed during the interval: Ollies Bar, Barrons Pub, Purcell’s Shop and special thanks to Ger & Mary O’Connor who supplied all the mineral drinks for the week including the Friday treat of Fanta and Coke. A big thank you to Padraic Maher, Brendan Maher, Seamus Callinan and John O’Keefe, Tipperary hurlers who attended on the various nights, signed jersey and hurleys for the children, their visits were very much appreciated. Also on the last night the children were presented with medals by one of our own, T.J Ryan.
