Minister to meet deputations on Clonmel health services

Junior Minister Kathleen Lynch is to be meet two deputations from Clonmel in the coming weeks as pressure intensifies on the Minister to keep St Michael’s psychiatric unit in the town open.

Junior Minister Kathleen Lynch is to be meet two deputations from Clonmel in the coming weeks as pressure intensifies on the Minister to keep St Michael’s psychiatric unit in the town open.

Service users and carers will form one group to meet the minister and politicians and consultants the other.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny was briefed on the campaign to keep the unit, attached to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel, open during a visit to the town last week. The unit is scheduled to close early next year.
