Carrick-on-Suir Musical Society has erected a Rememberance tree on the grounds of the Strand Theatre and has invited the people of the town to hang a Christmas bow on its branches in memory of a deceased loved one.

The Society is asking anyone who hangs a bow on the tree to make a donation to the South Tipperary Hospice Home Care Team.

Ribbons for the Remembrance tree will be available locally in shops and at the theatre.

“All donations are kindly welcome. the more you give the more they will get. Please be as generous as you can,” said a Musical Society spokesperson.

“While the money raised will be of enormous benefit to the Hospice, the main purpose of the Remembrance tree is to provide the locality with a means of remembering our loved ones, who won’t be with us at this special time of year.”
