Galtee Rovers St Pecaun’s

This weekend the West senior championship kicks off with the meeting of Galtee Rovers and Éire Óg on Friday night in Sean Treacy Park. As always, a good beginning would be a bonus as we set out to regain a title last won in 2008. On Saturday Aherlow and Arravale meet in Canon Hayes Park.

Last week our minor footballers fought back gallantly to earn a draw against Éire Óg in round three of the minor B football championship. We started brightly and opened up a three point lead in the first quarter but it took a Sean Daly goal near the end to bring us back into the reckoning after a sleepy period before and after the break. This week we need a result away to Clonoulty.

Tipperary Clubs Draw

By now most people should have got their receipts for the old draw and we can expect our draw promoters to be busy in the coming weeks. This is the 25th anniversary of the Tipperary GAA Clubs draw and to mark the occasion the headline prizes are two Skoda cars each month. The draw costs €100 or €10 a month and anybody wishing to join should contact a club officer before May 18th. Club draw promoters and supporters should note that the April draw will be held on Saturday night.
