PRIDE OF TIPPERARY
We wish our two local ladies who are taking part in the Pride of Tipperary the very best of luck; they are Ashling Slattery of Gurtussa, who is sponsored by Butlers Centra Dundrum, and Eavan Ryan, Kilmore, who is sponsored by The Venue, Dundrum House Hotel. We hope they have a great time and hopefully one of them will be the winner on the night.
SCOIL BHRIDE NS NOTES
DONASKEIGH SCHOOL FAIR
The annual School Fair which was held on Sunday last, July 1, was a great success despite the weather conditions. We thank everyone who supported the event in any way.
KICKHAM GAA SENIOR CLUB NOTES
We offer our sympathies at this time to the extended Lonergan Family, Grenepark, Dundrum, on the recent death of Mary Whelan (nee Lonergan) Gorey, Co Wexford, and formerly Grenepark, and also to the extended Horgan family Cappamurra, on the death of Theresa Casey (nee Horgan), London and formerly Cappamurra. Both the Lonergan and Horgan families have been involved in our club for many years and that continues right up to the present day. May Theresa and Mary rest in peace.
Fun / Sponsored Climb.
The club will have a fun/sponsored climb of Galtymore on Sunday next, July 8. Sponsorship cards available from Aidan Slattery on 087-2684066 or any club officer, we ask all club members to help out with this fundraising effort whilst enjoying time with your fellow club members. The details are, all intended participants to be in the GAA Field Car Park in Dundrum at 9.15am, car pooling from there to Lisvernane for 10am where our guide will take over and lead us all on our way. The good news is that there are two routes going to be used on the day one a little bit less strenuous than the other. Please remember to bring appropriate clothing for the prevailing weather conditions on the day and good walking boots as well as a walking stick or a hiking pole, a bottle of water and a choc bar or two.
Junior (A) Hurling.
Our Junior (A) hurlers had a good win over Cappawhite in Annacarty on Sunday morning last. See match report.
Junior (B) Hurling.
Our Junior (B) hurlers faced Sologhead’s number one team in this competition on Sunday evening last in Sean Treacy Park Tipperary town. See match report.
Minor (A) Huurling.
Our Minor hurlers were beaten by Cashel King Cormac’s in Dundrum on Saturday last on the score 3-8 to 0-8. The lads tried hard and were unfortunate to have a player sent off which turned the tide in Cashel’s favour when the teams were very close on the scoreboard. Check fixtures list for our next game.
We have just got this years order of Kickham togs from juvenile to adult as well as socks and Kickham Gear bags in small and large. For details ring Sean on 0872646441
