SYMPATHY: It is with sorrow and regret that we record the recent passing of Paddy Hearn, Lackendarra, Ballinamult. Paddy had been an avid GAA man all his life and was a member of the 1948 Waterford Junior football team that won the Munster title. Paddy will be sadly missed by his wife Kathleen, sons Michael and Pat, daughters Mary, Ann, Cannie and Allie, his daughters in law Maureen and Patricia, son in laws Chris Buttanshaw, Michael Hogan, Chris Miller, Kevin Murray, brother in law Pat Morrissey, sister in law Nellie Mc Grath, grandchildren, great grand children, nephews, nieces, other relatives, neighbours and many friends. May he rest in peace.

With deep sadness we record the passing of Jim Kiely, Lisleagh, Ballinamult, on Monday, September 3. Jim was predeceased by his brothers Eddie and Larry, sister St. M. Carmel, convent of Mercy, Dungarvan. We extend our deepest sympathy to his brother Joe, sister Bridget, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

We extend sincere sympathy to the family of Margaret Mc Carthy (nee Power) Churchquarter, Modeligo, whose death occurred recently. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Patrick and daughters Mary Theresa and Carmel. We extend sympathy to her sons Roger, John, Nicholas, Patrick, daughters Anne, Eileen and Catherine, brothers Mick and John, sister Kitty, daughters in law, Breda, Patricia, Neela and Deirdre, sons in law Gebrai, Roary and Michael. Sisters in law, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

JOHNNY GLEESON MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT: Reminder to all that the closing date for the final year of the Johnny Gleeson Memorial Pool Tournament is this Friday. Anybody wishing to play can give their names with an entry fee of E10 to McGrath’s bar, Touraneena or Melody’s bar, Ballymacarbry. The closing date for entry is Friday, September 14.

The draw for the first round will take place in Mc Grath’s bar, Touraneena, on Saturday, September 15, at 9pm. There will be music and refreshments on the night, so come along to give your support. All monies raised through this tournament will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Association. We look forward to your support
