Traffic diversions at railway bridge

Motorists who travel on the railway bridge on the northern side of Clonmel will face disruption on their journeys from next Monday (17th) while work continues on the construction of a new bridge.

Motorists who travel on the railway bridge on the northern side of Clonmel will face disruption on their journeys from next Monday (17th) while work continues on the construction of a new bridge.

The Fethard Road from the entrance to the Railway Bar to the junction with Thomas Street, and the southbound carriageway only of the Fethard Road from the entrance to the Railway Bar to the junction with Thomas Street will be closed for 24 hours a day, seven days a week until Thursday, 27th September.

The southbound carriageway only of the Fethard Road will be subsequently closed until Monday, 17th December. However pedestrian access across the railway bridge will remain open.

Southbound traffic from the Fethard Road roundabout will be diverted west along the N24. At the Cashel Road roundabout traffic will take the first exit onto the Cashel Road.

Northbound traffic travelling towards the Fethard Road roundabout will be diverted onto Kickham Street and Queen Street and turn right onto the Cashel Road. At the Cashel Road roundabout traffic will take the third exit and travel east on the N24.

A map showing details of the proposed road closure and alternative routes may be inspected at the offices of Clonmel Borough Council at the Town Hall in Parnell Street.
