Aspiring authors can learn some useful tips about short story writing by taking part in a series of workshops in Carrick-on-Suir’s Nano Nagle Community Resource Centre.

“Story Wise” run by writer Karen Moore will take place at the Nagle Centre on Saturdays October 6, 13 and 20 from 2pm to 4pm.
The workshops aim to teach clear story writing techniques, starting with some simple writing exercises to get the pen flowing.
The importance of setting and character development will be discussed. A story can often grow from a character.  If you make your characters strong enough, you will want to write about them.
Students will also study the creation of realistic dialogue, proofreading and editing, and will receive a brief guide to publishing. If you want to know more please book a place by calling (086) 0687982 or emailing karen@ksmoore.com.  This series of three workshops costs €60.  Early booking is advisable.
