GRANDPARENTS DAY GOLDEN NS

Grandparents and older members of the community are invited to join staff and children to celebrate Grandparents Day on Thursday, November 29, at 11.30am, the actual 75th anniversary of the school. Light refreshments. A limited number of books ‘Golden Days’ available from the school or SPAR.

CHORAL AND DRAMATIC SOCIETY

Golden Choral and Dramatic Society presents ‘Big Maggie’ by John B Keane on Saturday, December 8, at 8pm in the Community Hall. Tickets €10 available on the night, at the Cornerstone, or through the box office 0879524283.

Christmas ‘45’ commences on Wednesday nights at 10pm in Bridge House. Great prizes to be won.

KILFEACLE PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP

Kilfeacle Parent and Toddler Group would like to thank everyone who supported their annual Big Toddle for Barnardos during the summer. A total of €174 was raised for the childrens’ charity.

Also over the summer 26 children and parents enjoyed their summer outing to Parsons Green. A great day was had by all. The group will continue to meet on the first and third Wednesday of every month in Kilfeacle Community Centre from 9.45am to 11.30am. All parents, grandparents and carers welcome.

RIVER SUIR SEMINAR

A River Suir Showcase Seminar will take place in the Carraig Hotel in Carrick-on-Suir on Tuesday, November 27, from 3pm to 7pm. This seminar will illustrate how people can engage with the River Suir Community Action Plan, to look at the structures established for its roll-out, and to find out about funding opportunities for future projects. Individuals or groups and societies with an interest in the river and its development are encouraged to attend. Admission free.

COOKERY DEMONSTRATION

A cookery demonstration by Ailish Hennessy of Fiacrai House will take place in the community hall, Golden, on Monday, December 3. Tickets €10 at the post office, Sullivan’s or club officers. Copies of ‘Golden Days - a history of Golden NS’ will be available to purchase.

WEST TIPP PRIMARY SCHOOL QUIZ

Well done to Thomastown NS, who retained the trophy, and Golden NS, who came second, in the annual West Tipp Primary Quiz. They will both represent the west division in the county final in the Dome, Thurles, on December 9.
