SOCCER

There was disappointment for Cullen-Lattin that St Michaels managed to secure a 2 -1 victory in Sunday’s second round Munster Junior Cup tie. Cullen-Lattin created all the chances, but only led 1-0 at half-time thanks to a goal from Connor Ryan Minor. A penalty early in the second half got St Michaels back in the game and midway through the half Alan Hayes scored the winning goal. Next Sunday the team is at home to Kilsheelan in the Paddy Purtill Cup at 2pm. The B Team secured a 3 -2 win over Peake Villa’s second team. Goals were scored by Jack Donovan and DJ Lynch. The 11s lost by the only goal of the game in Donohill.
