Ballyneale FC defeated Tipperary Town B team 2-1 in a home league game in Ballydine last Sunday. The visitors put up a performance, which didn’t match their league position.

Ballyneale had to battle all the way to earn the win and claim all three league points. They dominated most of the first half creating many chances, but Tipp Town also created their own chances. The pressure finally paid off 25 minutes into the game when the Tipperary Town defence conceded a penalty.

Enda Fogarty cooly slotted home the spot kick and Ballyneale were one goal ahead at half time.

The second half was a bit more open than the first.

Marty O’Reilly scored a goal at the 70 minute mark, which proved to be a very important score. Tipperary Town, to their credit, never gave up and scored a goal from close range.

Best for Ballyneale on a wet and windy day were: Darren McCarthy, Dean Madden and Robbie O Brien.
