Tug Of War Presentation
The proceeds from The Brendan Morrissey Memorial Tug Of War pull will be presented to the representatives of the Hearth Foundation and the defibrillator upkeep on Saturday, November24, in The Granary Pub, Cahir, at 9pm.
All are welcome.
Christmas Flower Arranging
Cahir Flower and Garden Club will hold their Christmas Flower Arranging Demonstration “Step into Christmas” on Wednesday, November 28, at 8pm in Cahir House Hotel. The demonstrator on the night is Christine Hughes of AOIFA, the Association of Irish Floral Artists. All arrangements will be raffled at the end of the evening. There will also be refreshments, sales table and door prize. Admission €10 and all welcome to attend.
There was no Jackpot winner of the draw that took place on Wednesday, November 14 last. The numbers drawn were 1, 7, 19 and 25. The draw was witnessed by Nellie Burke. There were four Lucky Dip winners each taking home €25 and they were - Geraldine Long, Woodview, Cahir; Sarah Brunnick, Clonmore, Cahir; Norma Barry Hurley C/o Colaiste Dun Iascaigh, Cahir; and Larissa Fogarty, Butler Court, Cahir. Well done to all.
The next draw will take place on November, 21 at 12 noon in Cahir Day Care Centre. The Jackpot will then be €4,000. Get your tickets early. Tickets are available in local shops and also at the Enterprise Centre.
Active Retirement Association
The annual general meeting took place on Wednesday, November 7, last in the Catherine McAuley Room. The following officers were elected: Chairperson Rose Acres, Vice Chairperson Rita Walsh, Secretary Bob Condon and Asst. Secretary Lexie Sheehan, Treasurer Margaret Quinlan, PRO Ted Clarke.
The Active Retirement Association has made arrangements for the group to travel to Curraheen Greyhound Track, Cork on Thursday, December 13.

Panto Society Thanks
Cahir Pantomime Society would like to thank everyone who got involved in making the church gate collections and the coffee and cake sale morning a huge success. Committee members and volunteers did a great job converting the parish rooms into a mini coffee shop. Thank you also to the fantastic bakers. Funds raised will go to put our show “Jack and the Beanstalk” on the stage in January. Carol singing and bucket collections will occur on Saturday, December 15. We look forward to showing you the fantastic talent of all ages in our group.
A Cookery Demonstration with J. J. Healy will be held in Cahir House Hotel on Tuesday, November 27. Doors open at 7pm while local produce will be on display from 6.45pm. There will also be a cheese/wine reception. Admission is €10 and proceeds go to G.A.A. Camogie and Ladies Football.

The annual Church Door Collection will be held on weekend of the December 1 and 2. Please given generously.
Donations of good quality clean clothes, shoes, toys, etc. are urgently needed. Please hand them in to the shop in Abbey Street. The shop is open from Tuesday to Saturday.

Suirvale Macra will hold a Fr. Ted Table Quiz in the Hill Bar, Cahir, on Friday, November 30, at 9pm. Table of four €20 proceeds to Suirvale Macra and South Tipperary Autism. All are welcome.
Fianna Fail AGM
The inagural Tipperary Fianna Fail Comhairle Dáil Ceantair annual general meeting will be held this Thursday, November 22, in Bro Boru Cashel. This meeting is open to all Fianna Fail members who are invited to attend the creation of the new Tipperary Comhairle Dáil Ceantair, the merging of both North and South Tipperary into one Fianna Fail CDC unit. Under the new membership process which was approved at the last Ard Fheis all members are currently entitled to attend and vote at all levels within Fianna Fail in Tipperary. Registration of members from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Meeting will commence at 8.30pm sharp and will be chaired by members of FF parliamentary party.
End of an era
The Convent of Mercy, New Inn is closing after 135 years of great service to the community. To honour the Sisters who gave such commitment to the parish and surrounding areas, parishioners are organising a Mass of Thanksgiving in New Inn Church on Thursday, November 29, at 7pm, to be concelebrated by Archbishop Dermot Clifford. All past pupils and teachers are invited to attend. There will be a reception in the local hall.
