Business people in the town were very pleased with the presence of customers to support them at Christmas and the atmosphere of the Christmas Lights and Christmas tree gave an added boost to the town.
The loss of our bank has caused a lot of inconvenience to local community and surrounding areas, cut backs in Garda Service has caused a lot of anxiety but as a community we must help one another and be on alert to what is happening in all areas.
The local St Vincent de Paul shop has re-opened after Christmas break and volunteers to help would enable the shop to open extra days. Sale will take place on next Thursday, January 31, and Friday, February 1, on ladies, gents and children clothes and many household items. Thanks to all who have supported the shop in any way.

KILLENAULE MOYGLASS LADIES SOCCER
The underage programme has recommenced at Scoil Ruain on Saturday evenings from 6pm to 7pm with a great turnout last Saturday in poor conditions, 40 girls have signed up. The U18 game was cancelled on Sunday and is re-scheduled for next Saturday evening in Cappaquin. The senior team will resume training next Tuesday evening on the all weather from 8pm to 9pm.
The AGM of the local branch of Active Retirement was held in St. Mary’s Hall on Thursday, January 10. Outgoing Officers – Teresa Mc Garry President, Mary Sirr Secretary, Patsy Burke Treasurer remained in for another year. Membership fees were paid and anyone interested now is the time to join €12 for the year. Next meeting on February 14 and decisions on where outings will take place in 2013 will be decided.
