GALTEE GAELS JUVENILE GAA AGM
20 people were in attendance at Galtee Gaels Juvenile GAA AGM held in the dressing rooms Kilbehenny last Friday. Ger Condon Chairman presided. Hon Secretary Aoife Gallahue presented a very detailed Secretary’s Report which covered all activities both on and off the field. Maurice O’Connor presented the Financial Report which was in great detail and showed funds to be well handled and maintained. Mitchelstown Ballygiblin Juvenile GAA Club AGM was held last weekend. There was a large attendance. THE LATE BILLY O’KEEFFE
The death occurred unexpectedly, on January 23, of Billy O’Keeffe, Ard Alainn Ballykearney, Mitchelstown. The late Billy was well known in farming circles being a retired farmer. His popularity was borne out in the very large and represented attendance at the removal on Friday evening from O’Brien’s Funeral Home, Mitchelstown, to Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ballindangan, and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Saturday. Interment took place to Marshalstown Cemetery. To his wife Clare, daughters Maire (Corbett), Siobhan (Furey), sons in law John and Dan, grandchildren Ross, Fionn, Rebecca, Aine, Avril and Sandra, sister Sr. Berenice OP (Dublin), brother Fr Gerard (Ned OP) (Athy), sister in law Ita Beecher, brother in law Michael Kirk, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
THE LATE PADDY BYRNE
The death occurred on January 24, at Marymount Hospice Cork, of Paddy Byrne, 20 Brigown, Mitchelstown, and formerly of Dublin. The late Paddy was well known locally being wheelchair bound for many years. He bore his illness with great dignity. There was a large attendance at the removal on Sunday evening from O’Brien’s Funeral Home, Mitchelstown, to the Parish Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Monday. Interment took place to the adjoining cemetery. To his wife Mary (Nee Tierney), brothers Danny, John, sisters Nuala (Mullarkey), Marie (Carey) and Ena (Potts), sisters in law Maureen and Liz, brothers in law Michael, George and Michael, nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
THE LATE PHILOMENA FINN
The death occurred on January 22, peacefully at her son’s residence Pollardstown, Mitchelstown, of Philomena Finn (Nee Roche). The late Phil resided with her family at 17 Lr Cork St, Mitchelstown, formerly of Douglas Cork. There was a large attendance at the removal on Wednesday evening from O’Brien’s Funeral Home to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Mitchelstown, and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Thursday. Interment took place to the adjoining cemetery. To her sons Donal, Noel, Paul, daughters Cllr Deirdre (Forde), Avril (Luddy), daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
