Cashel Fairtrade group looking for new members

The Cashel Fairtrade Group aims to promote Fairtrade products, which means that small farmers and producers in developing countries get a fairer price for their products and community projects are also supported.

The Cashel group are looking for new members who might be available to help with the upcoming Fairtrade Fortnight from February 25 to March 10. If you are available to help please contact Sean McSweeney 0879461541.

Cashel King Cormacs Club Lotto

Results from our Lotto draw on Tuesday, January 22, held in the Brian Boru. The numbers drawn were 6,10,16, 29. There was no winner of the Jackpot of €9,300. The second chance draw took place and the numbers drawn were 9,12,13 and 23, and there was no winner of the €500 jackpot. The following won lucky dips on the night €50 Ann Skeffington, €50 Martin Kavanagh, €20 J Kennedy, €20 Michael Quinlan, €20 Mrs. P Mulligan, €20 Boycie Hogan, €20 Monica O’Gorman. Results from draw held in the Cashel Palace Bar on Tuesday, January 29, will appear in next week’s notes. Our next lotto draw will take place on Tuesday, February 5, in Mickey Ryans. Come along and join us from 9.30pm onwards.

Halla na Feile

Social Tea Dance in Halla na Feile on Friday, February 8,with dancing from 9 pm to midnight. Music is by the ever popular Catherine and The Images. Teas and sandwiches will be served and admission is €8. We look forward to seeing you and promise you a 
great night’s dancing on the best dance floor 
in Munster.

Social Dancing Classes continue on Tuesday evenings with dancing from 8.30pm to 10.45pm. An extra half hour is added on for those who like ‘Ballroom’ and all for €5.


World Taekwondo Association training to be held in Scoil Aonghusa on Monday and Thursday for all involved. Back in Halla na Feile from February 25, at the same times. For more details contact 0868359333’.

Flower and Garden Club

Cashel Flower and Garden Club will hold their monthly meeting in Spafield Family Resource Centre on Monday next, February 4, at 7.30pm. A good attendance would be greatly appreciated so that we can draw up an agenda for the coming year. Our new president will make a floral arrangement.

At the club’s AGM which was held in December outgoing president Eileen McGrath thanked the members for their support during her term in office. She thanked Sr. Mary Walsh for the use of the room and kitchen, Jenny for making the tea, secretary and treasurer Kathleen and Betty and PRO Mary Wallace for her details to the Nationalist and Tipperary Star. She congratulated the new top table officers of Mary Buckley, Catherine Halley and Breda Hickey. She looked forward to 2013 with a new team, new ideas and energy Cashel Flower Club will continue to prosper and grow.

All The Way Back

Due to an unprecedented demand for tickets which saw Rosegreen Community Hall full to capacity for last week’s staging of Rosegreen Players 2013 production ‘All the Way Back’ it has been decided to extend the run for a further two performances, this Friday and Saturday, February 1 and 2, at 8 p.m. Tickets can be reserved by contacting Pat Cummins at 0872204034.
