CANON HAYES ANNIVERSARY MASS
Muintir na Tíre begins its 75th anniversary year with the “TASK Volunteer of the Year Awards” which will be announced and presented on Saturday, February 4, at the McGrath GAA Centre, Bansha. The programme for the day in Bansha will commence at 11am with the celebration of Mass in Bansha Parish Church for the late John Canon Hayes, Founder of Muintir na Tíre, on the occasion of the 55th Anniversary of his death, and for deceased members of the organisation nationwide. Canon Hayes is buried at the rear of the Church in Bansha Graveyard and following the Anniversary Mass his nieces and nephew will assemble at 11.45am to lay a wreath at his grave. Proceedings will move then to the McGrath GAA Centre for the presentation of the TASK Volunteer of the Year Awards at 12 noon. Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Mr. Alan Kelly, T.D., will be joined by a number of dignitaries and representatives of TASK Community Care for the announcement and presentation of the 2011 awards. All are welcome to attend the Mass, Wreath Laying Ceremony and presentation of the Volunteer of the Year Awards.
SEPTIC TANK MEETING
Mattie McGrath TD is organising a public meeting for all householders in relation to the governments proposed septic tank and associated charges in O’Heney’s Bar, Bansha on Thursday, February 2, at 9pm. All are welcome.
BANSHA KILMOYLER GOLF SOCIETY
Bansha/Kilmoyler Golf Society will hold their AGM in Nellie’s Bar on Tuesday, February 7, at 8.30pm. All are welcome. Anybody wishing to join the society may submit their name to any committee member. Looking forward to the golfing year in 2012 as we have numerous new courses booked.

Bansha Show Society will host the annual Senior Citizens Party on this coming Sunday, February 5, at 2pm in O’Heney’s Millennium Room. The Society would like to welcome all senior citizens of the parish to this get together and enjoy a shared meal, music and delightful party atmosphere. Club Draw - It’s that time of year again when our faithful draw promoters take to the highways to sell our club draw. This draw is the lynchpin of our club finances each year and we are grateful to all the loyal supporters who join every year. Each month we have over €E1,000 in prize money with an annual total of over € E16,000. Anybody who wishes to join can do so by contacting a promoter or any committee member.
Congratulations to Andrew Morrissey and his beautiful bride, Áine Dunne, who were married last weekend in the Church of the Assumption, Lattin. In the weeks prior to his nuptials Andrew was a regular on the Tipp senior football team who qualified for the McGrath Cup final. This weekend Andrew and his team mates open their 2012 league campaign.
Friday is the First Friday, Holy Communion Calls to the housebound as usual, Mass in Kilmoyler at 7.30pm. Friday is also the Feast Day of St Blaise, Blessing of the Throats after Mass in both churches.
