Carrick-on-Suir is one of 20 locations around the country getting Primary Care Centres as part of a €115m Government economic stimulus package to improve the nation’s community health and social care services.

The centres are being designed and staffed to give people direct access to “integrated multi-disciplinary” teams of GP doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and a range of other health and social care services.

The HSE said it was not possible at this time to give a start and completion date for the Carrick-on-Suir and 19 other primary care centres but the best estimate is that they will be completed by late 2016. The centre will developed under a Public Private Partnership.
