Eleven primary schools took part in the Cashel Lions Club Peace Poster competition.

The response was extremely good and project co-ordinator, Richard Long, would like to thank the children who took part and the teachers who encouraged them. There will be an award for the best from each school and the overall winner. The posters are being judged at the moment and prizes will be presented in the Parish Centre on November 8.

The Club are involved in Team Hope Shoebox Appeal and hope to send 150 shoeboxes to different parts of the world for Christmas. Fill a shoebox with little things for children who seldom receive a gift. It costs €4 to despatch a box.

The packing takes place in the Parish Centre on November 8.
