The HSE has submitted a planning application for Carrick-on-Suir’s proposed Primary Care Medical Centre to Carrick-on-Suir Town Council.

The application seeking permission to build the one-stop shop of community health and social care services on land adjacent to St Brigid’s District Hospital on the Pill Road, was lodged with the Town Council on Tuesday, October 22.

The Town Council is due to decide on whether to approve, refuse or seek further information on the development on December 16.

The HSE has applied for permission to demolish the existing single-storey health centre, mortuary and ancilliary structures on the site and replace it with the two and three-storey high Primary Care Centre and also construct new car parks with access from the Pill Road.
