Anybody wishing to improve their skills as a tennis player might be interested in a course of lessons at the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre. There will be 4 lessons before Christmas and 4 lessons early in the new year. The sessions, the themes of which will be serve, rally and score, will take place on Wednesdays between 8 and 9pm. and will commence next Wednesday, November 13th at 8 o’clock. Aimed at beginners and improvers, the classes will be conducted by a fully trained Tennis Ireland licensed coach. Places, which are limited to 8, may be booked by giving name, contact number and course fee of 70 euros in to the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre reception desk as soon as possible. Alternatively, one may secure a place with a deposit of 20 euros and then pay 10 euros each week for 6 weeks.
St. Michael’s FC
Last weekend our Youth Team had no fixture due to the TSDL Youth Tipp team being in action. Our first team were at home in Cooke Park last Saturday night in a huge FAI round 3 clash against fellow premier league outfit Peake Villa. Result: 3.1 to Saints. Goals from Ritchie Ryan, OG and Russell Quirke. We now await Round 4 FAI draw to take place. Many Thanks to the very large crowd who attended this vital game on such a wet and windy night. Our 2nd team were away to Clonmel Town B in division 2 league fixture last Sunday. Result: 7.1 to Clonmel Town B.
This week sees our first team at home in Cooke Park on Saturday November 9, to St. Nicholas FC in a Munster Junior cup round 2. Our second team are at home to Kilmanahan Utd at the Complex, on Sunday November 10, in Division 2 League. Our Youth Team are away to St. Nicholas FC in Munster Youth Cup round 2 fixture, on Saturday, November 9, as Saints youths lost their home advantage because of a water logged pitch. Des Marnane’s book ‘The First Hundred’, the text of history talks on Tipp Mid West radio 2011-13, is being launched Thursday November, 7 at 8pm at the Excel and in Cashel the following Thursday at 8pm in Cashel Library.
